NICOLE ELARAR was born in Casablanca, Morocco and at a very young age
immigrated to Israel where she was raised. In
1977 she moved to Canada and soon after began her artistic initiation. Nicole’s ability to marry colour and shapes has helped her in her work with stone from which she extracts the final shapes. Nicole is a pure autodidact who relies on her own instinct to interpret her observations. However, to refine her art, Nicole began in 1992 to study sculpting techniques with Jerry-Lee Czerny and has since produced numerous pieces, some of which can be seen in various galleries in Vancouver and Montreal. Nicole also studied at the Living Stone Studio under the tutelage of Alberto Replanski. Nicole has exhibited her work in several places including at the Open Art Gallery and at the Sidney and Gertrude Zack gallery in Vancouver as well as in Montreal during the Quinzaine Sepharade Festival and at the Galeria. Nicole presently lives in Montreal where she continues to sculpts at the l'Atelier Michele Lavoie, she exhibits her work in local galleries. |
